After completing a lesson, a follow up email is sent by SSDA asking students about their experiences. Students can reply to that email directly, which is then forwarded to me. Students also have the option to share their opinion directly on Google Maps for their respective region. I believe in complete transparency in regards to reviews, therefore, I have shared all of my reviews from both sources below. Some may be repeats if the student elected to share their opinion in both platforms.

"I really wanted to have the skill of being able to drive a manual transmission for travel. So, I called and signed up for the level two course. I met up on a Sunday with the instructor in a large empty parking lot. In three hours I learned a lot more than I was expecting. I even got the vehicle from parked to fifth gear. I feel so much more confident getting behind the wheel of a stick shift than I did before."

"To put it shortly this was an incredible experience and an all around fun time. My instructor was Alex and his 2008 Ford Mustang Bullit with a powerful v8 under the hood. Alex is a very patient, charismatic, and all around nice guy to be around and his car shares many of those characteristics with him. Alex was more than willing to explain to me step by step and repeat instructions and knowledge if I didn't fully understand. This being the first time I ever drove stick I think that my first car that I will buy for myself will most likely be a manual."

"Alexander was an amazing instructor. He taught me all the basics of stick shift driving and I feel confident in my ability to become a proficient stick shift driver. He was very thorough and provided plenty of opportunities to practice each skill which were very helpful. I would recommend him to anyone as an instructor to anyone. The only downside to Stick Shift academy is that since the lessons are in a parking lot, it doesn't truly teach you how to drive on the open road. It teaches you only the important basics of stick shift driving. Although Alexander and I talked through several real world scenarios and I feel confident enough to drive on the open road based on his directions."

"I took Standard Level 2 class. The scheduling was straightforward and they had several locations around Austin with convinient time available. Was contacted by instructor right away with location suggestions. Instructor (Alexander) was very good (his car is cool too :). He explained the basics and best practives very well. After one lesson I was able to drive by myself very next day (albeit, not during rush hours). Still need a lot of practice, but am glad with the result."
